The Radon Measurement Course begins with a glossary of the common terminology associated with radon inspection. Some of these terms will be familiar, while others may be new to you. You may return to this glossary as many times as you like to review the terms and their meanings. By taking the time to learn these terms, the entire course will move a bit more quickly, and you will gain an understanding of the language used in the industry. Learning the terms is not particularly difficult, but it can be time consuming.
When embarking on a new learning experience, there is an expectation that you have been exposed to some of the concepts and may know some of the material. This course is no different. For this reason, each lesson begins with a short pre-assessment quiz to measure your prior knowledge and understanding of the subject matter. A pre-assessment quiz lets you know what to expect from the lesson, as well as what you may already know. This awareness should help you focus and actively participate in the lesson.
At any time, you can contact us for support with problems you are having with the course or any other advice you need. We are happy to use our experience to help you get your start in the inspection industry. When you complete the course and pass the final exam, we will issue your course completion certificate online (printable) or by mail.
After you complete the course, it is your responsibility to complete any state-specific requirements before you begin inspecting and testing homes for radon. Some states have no requirements. Other states have minimal requirements or may require that you pass an exam or apply for certification. Call your state government for specifics.
